FALL IS HERE - Winter is coming

This platform is all about sharing the good stuff. As (almost) the whole world is cooling off and winter is around the corner, we need to change most of our wardrobe and prepare for winter. I thought it would be nice to share my favorite products and items and hopefully inspire you with the good stuff!

BEAUTY

As most countries seems to have this horrible pandemic under control we can slowly mentally prepare ourselves for all social activities that are coming. Dinners, friends coming over, parties, travels and of course Christmas.  You can’t go wrong with a delicate lip liner. I found this warm pinky tone from Guerlain that goes really well with any skin tone. If all this festive food you’re about to eat doesn’t give you red satisfying cheeks already, you can use this organic Ilia Beauty 2-in-1 multi-stick & Illuminator for some extra support on the cheeks and lip. Other products that I love from Ilia is the serum concealer because it covers really well even though it’s light texture. Illia’s liquid eyeshadow comes in a beautiful color which will work for the weekdays but also for anything festive. If you really want to spice things up this season you can try Chanel’s Les Beiges palette eyeshadow.

Personally what always works for me when I don’t feel like wearing make-up is to brush my eyebrows and curl my lashes and add a bit of blush and it gives me a fresh look. One of my favorites is the Hourglass tinted volume eyebrow gel. Together with Charlotte Tilbury’s Brow Pencil Refill Cheat you’re ready to go wherever. On to the base: I’ve never really been a fan of foundation until I got introduced during a shoot to the MAC studio face and body foundation, and The Ordinary foundation with SPF15. Having a solid light foundation with SPF is just what you want. To give your under eye bags extra coverage you can use Bobbi Brown’s color corrector (I use color peach) so that the dark spots are already covered before you put concealer on. This really works, bye bags!!

Glow baby, glow! There are two type of highlighters/illuminators that I really really love.
The magic balm from Honest Beauty (This is organic and also Jessica Alba’s brand, love her) and Tom Ford illuminating primer. The first one is a 100% natural multitasking balm that soothes and softens dry skin, for example this is great for the lips, eyelids, nails and like I said: highlighter. The one from Tom is more for the evenings I would say, it’s a bit thicker and more of a shine. To top things of… GUCCI beauty’s Vernis à Ongles nailpolish has a beautiful nude color which works for every occasion. And last but not least Charlotte’s genius magic powder and we all know what that’s for.

WELLNESS

Wellness matters because everything we do and every emotion we feel relates to our well-being. The older I get, I feel like this is becoming more and more important to me and I find myself focusing more on what really matters. Whether this keeping my circle small by simply saying goodbye to things/people that no longer serve me or eating healthy so that I feel good from the inside. Moving on, I found some nice products that I have been using or recently tried. The eye-catcher is the Moroccan mountain Crystal. I have to say, I don’t know much about how they work but what I do know is that it gives me a relaxed feeling having the stone next to my bed for example and looks great on a coffee table book. If you’re having restless nights, try the This Works deep sleep pillow spray or the REN now to sleep spray. A mix of essentials oils such as lavender helps you to relax and improve your sleeping balance. If you’re not so much of a spray fan, try the Nue Co sleeping drops (organic). This company has lots of good stuff for your gut, immunity, skin, energy, stress etc.

Before going to bed, after cleaning my skin I use the beauty lifter vibrating T-bar face tool from Skin Gym. It gives your skin a boost to a new life. 2 or 3 times a week I use the FOREO face brush for cleaning. Simply make the brush a little wet and add some cleanser and brush it out! (gentle) If you have a tough skin, maybe try the skin balancing toner from Paula’s Choice to reduce pores and red areas. Recently I discovered lip oil, especially now with colder days I fancy this more than balm. I found this one in a beautiful color: Clarins tinted lip oil. Some extra vitamins never hurt nobody. Some of my favorites are Oskia Super-C Smart-Nutrient Beauty Capsules and Grown Alchemist hair complex supplement. I am not a huge fan of 100% natural deodorant to be really honest, it just doesn’t work for me and that’s ok. For the ones who love this, I heard so many good things about the Malin + Goetz eucalyptus deodorant. To be more aware of gratitude or to write off negative thoughts? The 100 day journal or the five minute journal is something for you.

WARDROBE

I love clothes. I’m not gonna lie I absolutely adore clothing. Since two years I am purchasing less fast fashion and try to buy less in general. My love for vintage is always there but I invest more in quality pieces. If I you find an amazing quality piece but it doesn’t really fit your budget, I recommend reconsidering this to see if you can work it out. My logic behind this is simple: quality over quantity. In the past I have bought maybe 12 pairs of leather pants from different fast fashion companies, but they didn’t last. A while ago I invested in a bit more expensive leather pants from The Attico and I felt immediately that this pair will last with me forever. Please note, I’m not saying that if it’s expensive it’s automatically good, but because but often the quality and fit is so much better if you pay a higher price. Love these leather pants from Anine Bing.

For the cozy (knit) lovers like myself I found a few items that you can wear for different occasions. For the day Malene Birger knit dress, colorful mohair mix sweater from Essentiel Antwerp, Marc O Polo woolmix coat (sleeveless) and the white cream bomber with removable sleeves, beautiful white turtleneck sweater from Anine Bing, beautiful pullover with shapes by Rohe Frames and Skall studio knitted mixed vest. Keeping the ears warm with the Samsoe Samsoe hat, cute knitted vest by Skall studio which would go really well with the cool double layered jeans by 1Off Paris and leather loafers from Closed. The beautiful knitted KHAITE top can be worn to date night or night out with friends. Closed does a really good job at relaxed fitted pants, I found this one with virgin wool. Together with a cropped top from 1Off Paris and a nude long coat from Jeminol you have a really cool outfit right there.

SKIN

Sometimes, finding a skincare routine that works for you can be difficult. Especially cleaning the skin before going to bed is very important. After trying out a few different products, you’ll know what is best for your skin or sometimes it takes years to find out! I would like to share some of my favorites other than I already shared before on the beauty page.

We all hate them: pimples. The two products I have been using to fight this are  Dr. Barbara Sturm’s calming serum and the Mario Badescu spot treatment. Our bust need some love to and we often forget this. Collistar volumizing oil-serum for the bust does the job. To optimize the hydration of the skin, Hyaluronic Acid is what you need. (HA) 2% + B5. Personal favorite is the hydration serum from The Ordinary. For night time I adore the Cera Repair Barrier cream from Biotherm. Only the smell itself is amazing. Even though summer is over, don’t forget to keep using SPF for the face. Don’t get scared of a 50, you will still get some color. La Roche Posay anthelios age correct spf50 is a winner. It’s light, no break outs and smells so good. No worries, you can still use the self tan drops from Tan-Luxe or the Bare by Vogue tanning mist for the face. The lips need some love too! MAC lip scrub is great once a week! – the lips will feel so soft.

I’m a Kiehl’s fan. The midnight recovery face oil is something I use for years, my skin feels super soft in the morning. For Vitamin C products I like Kiehl’s eye serum for line and dark circle reducing and PIXI’S remedy mask. For the body: Maison Francis Kurkdjian is amazing if you like a more woody, warm vanilla kind of smell. The Baccarat Rouge 540 scented body oil is great after a nice delicate body scrub with salt and magnesium from Rituals.

Hopefully I have inspired you in a way! These are honest recommendations, even if you're not interested in a specific recommended product, I hope you find something else you didn’t know you were looking for. Stay warm and safe everyone! I’m looking forward to the festive season
