ELINE VISSER luxury brand manager Benelux & Scandinavia

We've been in a global pandemic for over a year and a half now, What are some things you've learned about yourself during this time?

My lifestyle was very high tempo before the pandemic. Work, being a mommy, sports, social, a lot of traveling for work and private. I have always been in a rush and I loved it, it was my way of life. My biggest fear was being bored. Since the pandemic, I have learned to go back to my basics: family, close friends, home. This made my world smaller and stronger in terms of quality. Another aspect I learned is to live in the moment; now and here is what we have and what we got, the rest is uncertain – with credits to my boyfriend too.

Do you think your relationship to beauty has changed over the past year at all?

Yes, in terms of health from the inside, it makes you beauty from the outside; skin, mind, nutrition, sleep, people you chose around you, balance in life – and if you are healthy and happy it will appear in your beauty and shine from the outside. For me this happened the last 2 years.

Maybe because I am getting older things are changing; your vision on beauty and what’s important in live; being a mommy, the friends and partner you chose, new situations, you’ll learn much more about yourself and what is the best version of being you. Besides, my most important aspect of beauty (from the outside) is the skin (and at the same time this is my biggest challenge) And besides that, I have an obsession with female bodies..
To work on my body I do Rocylce, Fitness and LPG Endermologie treatments.

Working in a high end luxury market, has your perspective of beauty changed in a way?

Absolutely, beauty is not only visible from the outside. The craftsmanship together with the story behind it makes beauty a luxury. It tells you a story.

What do you love the most about your job?

The variety of my activities, my team, the spirit of the brand. Traveling, of course. I develop as a person due to my job as well; trough the people I meet and the experiences/chances I get. It brought me into the world of Art and Golf for example… aspects I was not very interested for in first instance.

What is the worst make up blunder you often see and wish you could let the world know?

Too much foundation and lipgloss in daylight.

What does your skin-care routine look like?

I am using the complete line of Obagi. I have this ongoing war with pigmentation spots, after my pregnancy. This is the only product what helps for me.

Extra care; facemasks and a regular visit to the best dermatologist: Elian Brenninkmeijer. She is the expert on skincare.

Every morning after showering, I treat myself with body lotion and take care of my hands

Top three skin-care products?

1. ZO’ Skin Health by Zein Obagi. My routine exists out of this following treatment plan twice a day morning and evening.

Gentle CleanserOil Control Pads - Daily Power DefenseSkin Brightener

2. Perricone MD the No Makeup Foundation Serum Broad Spectrum SPF20 30ml

It's the perfect natural and light foundation for all day and everyday use.

3. Natura Bissé Diamond White Oil-Free Brilliant Sun Protection SPF 50 30ml

Pinch me moment/career highlights?

I had the pleasure to visit the most exclusive Art exhibition in Venice Bienale. This was definitely the most impressing press trip with Audemars Piguet I've ever been on.

Who are your beauty icons, past and present?

Present

Hailey Bieber: She has an amazing style and look. As well as I love her glow (but still very young)

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: Great skin and make-up style.

Blake Lively: Natural look, love her expression. She is the girl next door and at the same time a beauty. Love her feminine shapes.

Cameron Diaz: Love her laugh, and I know she has / used to have many issues with her skin – maybe therefore I appreciate her beauty even more.

Past

I love the models from the 80s/90s: Heidi Klum, Gisele Bündchen, Cindy Crawford, Elle Macpherson, Julia Roberts.. Their style, their look and bodies.

What about your makeup routine?

After my moisturizer and SPF50 I start with my foundation Perricone to cover my spots and make my skin more plain and fresh – at the same time this product is very caring for your skin. Followed by a little blush on my cheeks. I brush my eyebrows with old mascara. This way it already has a darker tone and the brush is really good. (tip!)

Mascara and a little soft liner dark grey between my lower eyelashes (Pupa mascara & soft liner)

Little bit of natural lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury or Chanel

I always have my nails done with gellac because for me, hands are most important. Learned from my mom :)

Favorite makeup trick you would like to share with us?

Use an old mascara brush for your eyebrows.

Anything you’re particularly looking forward to in the coming months?

‍‍To get to travel again! I'm going on Holiday to Italy with my boyfriend. Just back to basics, low-key hideaway in south of Italy. Can't wait.

2. Charlotte Tilbury

What means beauty to you?  What’s your overall beauty philosophy?

I think Skin and happiness is the most important aspect of your beauty. Everybody is unique so please do not try to be someone else, keep true to your own identity.

Everybody is going to have the same look with big eyebrows, lips, cheeks, hair extensions. This is a big NO to me.

I also find it very important to embrace your age – there is something beautiful at every age.

What do you see yourself doing next? What are your goals?

Business related I would like to create a strong female community. Maybe one day to start my own business. I have a great network build up after so many years working in this industry, which is very valuable to me.

On a private level I would like to continue my life as it is. I am at my happiest right now :)

I'd love to grow more and more as a person and make memories with the people I love. Maybe.... one more baby girl in my modern family if possible!

What makes you feel extremely grateful and the most happy in life?

Health is the most important thing to me among my son, my partner, my family, my friends...
